Competition

Accept the challenge at the Malta Design Competition, a key event of the MARE Summit. This contest invites architects to transform a basic template—such as a park, garden, or urban space—into an extraordinary and innovative design using the diverse product range of Malta Design. Participants will utilize SketchUp software, featuring elements like swings, trash cans, barriers, and furniture made from recyclable wood or concrete, to bring their visions to life.

Details

Date: The competition will take place on Day 1 (23rd May 2024), with voting on Day 2 of the MARE Summit (24th May 2024).

 Venue: Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre, equipped with touchscreens for real-time design using SketchUp software.

 Duration: Architects will have a concise 10 minutes to develop and present their designs.

 Voting: Summit attendees will vote on the second day, allowing ample time to review each design. A ranked list of the top designs will be announced based on attendee votes.

 Prize: The top designer will receive a €1,000 voucher from Malta Design, promoting further professional development and creative projects.

Award Ceremony

The winner of the Malta Design Competition will be announced and awarded during the summit’s closing ceremony on Day 2. This celebratory event will not only honor the winner but also enhance the communal and collaborative spirit of the summit.
