Santa Luċija Playground: A Community Space Delivered Early
Discover how Malta Design delivered the Santa Luċija playground three months ahead of schedule, creating a vibrant community space with a single accountable team.

A Community Space, Delivered Ahead of Schedule
The Santa Luċija Local Council required a new playground for its residents and sought to have it open as soon as possible. The public tender set a five-month delivery schedule. Malta Design delivered the project in just two months.
This is a case study in how integrated execution can bring a council's vision to life faster, ensuring families benefit sooner from new public spaces.
A Public Tender. A Five-Month Timeline. A Community Waiting.
Through a formal public procurement process, the Council of Santa Luċija commissioned Malta Design (High Rock Ltd) to design, supply, and install a new community playground, including all associated civil works.
The contract allowed five months for delivery. For any public space, every additional month before opening is another month before residents see the value of the investment.
Two Months. One Accountable Team. No Compromise on Quality.
By managing civil works, equipment supply, installation, project management, and post-delivery follow-up under a single accountable team, Malta Design compressed the delivery to two months and handed over a finished, safe, fully operational space three months ahead of schedule.
The council expressed their satisfaction:
"The entire project was completed in just two months, against a contractual schedule of five months. This significant acceleration was achieved without compromising the quality of execution, the safety of the works, or the comfort of the surrounding residents."

An Early Opening. A Lasting Landmark.
In their letter of reference, the council noted that "the equipment installed has proven robust, well-finished, and visibly engaging," and that "the playground has quickly become a popular gathering point for families across our commune."
For a local council, the value of early delivery is measured not just in weeks saved, but in residents reached, families served, and public commitments met on time.
